Can I use my same kitesurfing kite and gear on the snow?
Yeah, the only difference is swapping your kiteboard for a pair of skis or a snowboard. Some people buy foil kites (similar to large trainer kites) because the don’t have any inflated parts. However, your normal kitesurfing kite will work fine in the snow. Same harness, same bar and lines, etc.
Do I need a special snowboard / skis for snowkiting Nova Scotia?
I know how to kitesurf and ski, do I need to take a lesson?
Definitely a good idea. There are some differences between snowkiting and kitesurfing. Lessons are available for $180 for 2 hours.
How often can I get out snowkiting Nova Scotia?
This depends heavily on the winter snow conditions each year, but count on approximately 10-25 days per winter.
